guidelines for being a responsible blogger
Blog Posting Guidelines
Use good grammar and spelling. Proofread. Mistakes cause readers to focus on how you write, not your ideas. You are showing a part of yourself and our school in your posts.
Write with your audience in mind: Who are they? What do they need to know? What do they want to know? How will they use your information?
Pay attention to copyright. Use other people's work with respect and link to your sources.
Think before you post. Ask yourself, "Is this something I want my parents, teachers, friends, strangers to see?"
Never use your last name online.
Blog Commenting Guidelines
Comments should be at least two sentences long, not less.
Read the original post carefully. Read all the comments, and then write ideas that add to the conversation. Be part of the full discussion. Add information. Don't simply agree or disagree.
Use comments to show what you think is important, interesting, controversial, thoughtful. Choose disagree, but do so respectfully.
Constructive criticism only. Critique the idea, not the person.
Use good grammar and spelling. (See the first guideline for posting.)
Treat people the way you want to be treated.
