GRADING
All assignments are expected to be turned in on time. “On time” means the moment the assignment is due. I will accept work up to one day late at one grade lower. With few exceptions, I do not accept assignments that are more than a day late.

FYI: Throughout the year, you will encounter some very short assignments. Any assignment worth fewer than five points WILL NOT be accepted late.
Grading Scale: I use Bedford High School’s scale, and I grade on a straight point system. Each assignment is worth a specified amount of points depending on its difficulty/importance, and points are deducted for late, incomplete, or incorrect assignments. At the end of the semester, points are converted to percentages; I do not “grade up.” For instance, if your average is 89.97 percent, I will not "bump" the grade to a 90 percent. Extra Credit: I do not take requests from students wishing to complete extra credit work in order to improve an unacceptable grade. |
MAKE-UP WORK
When you are absent, the first step is to consult Schoology. There you will find daily updates on class activities and assignments. As a young adult, arranging for the completion of make-up work is your responsibility. You have as many days to complete your make-up work as you were absent.
RULES AND EXPECTATIONS
Please consult the Bedford High School Information Page and the Bedford Public Schools Student Handbook for details.

Ms. PRIEST'S/BHS's Personal Device Policy
I follow the high school's policy:
High school students are only allowed to use personal devices before and after school, and during lunch. Students can use their personal devices during homeroom if permitted by the homeroom teacher. Students cannot use their cell phone in the hall and during hall change, as this has potential for an unsafe environment. Student cell phones are to be powered off and inaccessible during instruction time (Handbook 53).
Consequences for Failure to Comply in Ms. Priest's Class:
First Offense: Warning
Second Offense: Penalty Hall
Third Offense: Report to Assistant Principal (at least a penalty hall)
